SECOND COLLECTION FOR CHURCH STUDENTS

On the last weekend of the month, the Diocese is asking all Parishes to have a special collection for our seminarians and their training. This year we have SIX young men in training, which is the highest for a number of years. And their six or seven years at Seminary doesn’t come cheap! Special Gift Aid envelopes available for this excellent cause.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION 2011-2012

Year 3 or above who do not attend our Catholic Primary School and would like them to make their 1st Forgiveness and 1st Holy Communion? The Launch Meeting is Tuesday October 11th 6.30 pm in the House, so please get the names in well before then.

WANT TO BE AN ALTAR SERVER??

We’ll soon be recruiting new Altar Servers for our Parish. Minimum requirement is that boys and girls should have made their First Holy Communion. There is no maximum age limit! There will be a short training programme starting Friday 7thOctober, and we hope to enrol our new Members on The Feast of St. Stephen (26th December). Many thanks to the army of Stewards who made this such a success – biggest number of visitors so far, so thanks for welcoming them!

HARVEST FESTIVAL 25th SEPTEMBER

We are collecting donations of food – tins and packets – for the SVP to give to families that need a little help. All donations welcome but especially on 25th when children will be invited to bring the offerings at the 10.45 Mass as part of Children’s Liturgy.
